I started my day by reading by chance a book entitled Emotion and Relationships: Through an artist's eye by Jane Bingham (Publisher: Raintree :2006). It was by chance since I found the book on my brother's dining table; must have been one of my niece's, Aimi, books. She is studying in an international school in Ampang and her collection of books is awesome. Allow me to quote a paragraph from the book :
Most artists agree that it is much harder to show happiness and contentment than it is to show sadness or pain. But some talented artists have managed to rise to the challenge. When you look at their works of art, you can feel the emotions oj joy and pleasure.
The book is mainly focusing on artist's works to potray feelings. It's a good book; 50 pages only but delivers a strong message to the readers. I conclude that how we lead our life is more or less the same as how we perceive art. We have a wide range of feelings, from happiness to grief, sadness, fear and despair and loneliness. Relationships that we have in life determine the scope of our feelings. Sometimes, you are surrounded by many people ; yet you sense loneliness in your heart. There are times when you are by yourself ; yet you feel very contented. Well, I am alone but definitely, am not lonely.
